The inspiration from this painting came from a photo I took in my garden. I love starting with a black canvas, things seem to fall into place immediately and then you can just keep adding detail.

These cows were grazing at a property close to where we live, the little one looks just a little standoffish.  Whenever I add more than one subject to a painting it seems a little tricky, the challenge for me is making my brush stokes so small.  I end up spending more time on the detail.
