FABULOUS FRENCHIE

6 x 8 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$75.00

I took this photo recently of JJ a lovely little french bull dog who was quite happy to pose for me, she is very photogenic.  Her colouring is interesting as is her personality. The paint brush I used was ready to be tossed, but for this painting it worked well especially for the face, I like the messiness of it.

FAIRY PLAYGROUND

6 X 8 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$75.00

I used dioxazine purple for the under painting, I love how the greens and yellows compliment with the purple.   I took the photo of these sunflowers at Nanoose edibles(for anyone wanting amazing salad greens, they have the best on Vancouver Island and such a beautiful destination.

Cow 142 NATURE LOVER

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$60.00
I will say it again, I love just using the primaries and mixing from there, it just adds a flow to the colours and they never seem to muddy.

I ADMIRE YOU

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
SOLD

I used a soft palette for this painting, staying quite close to the original colourings...this dog had the most beautiful soft pink nose.  I loved the contrast of the bright red collar.

Cow 141 CREATOR OF OPPORTUNITIES

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$60.00
I haven't painted for a week, not for lack of trying.  Today I was in town at my studio and of course started the day with a cow...a sure thing to inspire me, which it did.  Sometimes a change of scenery is good for painting.

PLEASE SIR...

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$60.00
My last two paintings were very large so going back to my 6 x 6 was a little bit of a challenge at first.  I used burnt umber to under paint and do the sketch. I find it softens the overall colours of the painting.
