We met Missy at the fall fair and she was not at all impressed with our efforts at getting a good photo of her. After a couple of hours of back and forth with all the other animals she finally decided to do the photo shoot.

I took the photo of this pig at a farm in Errington close to where I live, he had just finished rolling in the mud and was just a little startled when he saw me taking photos.

This is my friend Cindy's pig, it was hard getting the picture because he was so curious he wouldn't stand still. 

PLEASANTLY PLUMP

This pig was actually much more than pleasantly plump, he was sitting very happily with his partner in a slop of mud...obviously eating was his top priority.

When I walked up to this pig he became very vocal, you could tell that he loved attention. As a pet of the farm owners he has a very good life just rolling around in the mud and lounging with his partner.

Loved painting these pigs, used to a very limited palette to achieve the look I wanted...loose strokes and I left the detail right until the very end.

While I was painting this pig I just kept smiling to myself, he definitely has his own personal look. I painted the background three different times finally settling on a warm green.

When I first looked at my subject I thought there wasn't enough detail, after much studying of this little piggy I found more and more, the colour changes, the shapes, I so enjoyed painting him.
