My daughter moved to London a couple of years ago and when I visit the first place I head is is to London Fields that, it is a beautiful park that is always buzzing with activity.

It is another beautiful day here, though very crisp, the sky seems bluer than normal and the peaks of the mountains so very white against it. This is another photo from the Parksville waterfront, I am looking forward to summer after painting the scene.

Being that is is New years day I wanted to paint something special.  I took this photo at Nanoose Edibles where I buy my vegetables every chance I get, everything is organic and the farm is so very beautiful.  We are so fortunate that we have this special spot on Vancouver Island.  This painting I would have to say is expressionist,impressionist with a little bit of abstract(I can't decide). I really enjoyed just painting the rows of colour and then adding detail.

I borrowed a photo from a friend for this painting, it was so beautiful. I tried to keep the palette fairly light to show the sun streaming through the trees and onto the path.

I have been so inspired by the lovely weather we have been having that I got in my car and drove around taking pictures.  Vancouver Island really does have some of the most beautiful scenery...I never take for granted the beauty that I live in.
