I started with a blue underpainting for this chicken, I have been experimenting with slightly different colours...even maybe a bit less colour.  I love that you make the rules as you go with being creative.

I have had this photo for quite some time, today it spoke to me.  I kept the brush strokes really loose and messy for this painting. Whenever I paint something red I always addd fuchsia pink, it just seems to give just a little more definition and interest.

The photo for this painting came from a friends facebook page...thank you Ron.  Messy strokes and brush dragging were used often to get the look I wanted for this chicken.

I have had this photo for some time, I never am quite sure how to tackle feathers. I fiddled around quite a bit with this painting, I think the background has about 8 layers of paint. I just had to put my brush down and be done.

I painted this chicken with softer edges and blended the paint a little more that usual.  I am trying to find a balance between blending and defining with my paint strokes.
