WALLPAPER

8 X 8 inch
oil on 1/8th inch premium canvas board
$85.00

I used an orange under painting for this panel, as I was painting it just started to remind me of wallpaper, very busy wallpaper.
I used many small quick strokes and just kept layering the colour.

SIMPLE PLEASURES

6 x 6 inch
oil on  1/8th premium canvas panel
$60.00

I started this painting with a transparent red canvas, I like how you can see glimpses of the colour under the blues and golds.

EASY LIVING

10 x 10 inch
oil on 1/8th inch canvas hard board
SOLD

These are flowers from my garden and of course my trusty turquoise vase. I started with a dioxazine purple under painting and then layered colour trying to leave some of the purple exposed, I finished the painting and decided to take my dogs for a walk.  When I got back home and looked at the painting again I decided to add just a couple of hints of cadmium red, it just gave the painting a little more punch.

LITTLE LOVELY

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
SOLD

Another deer painting.  I so enjoy painting them, even though when I look out my front window I can see what they have been eating out of my garden.

MOTHERLY LOVE

6 x 8 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
SOLD

Yesterday I was driving home and saw these deer casually walking across the street, I pulled over of course and snapped some pictures. I started with a white canvas(no under painting), I completely finished painting the deer before I started the background, the photo shows them in front of a white shed.  I decided to add the foliage for a more interesting background.

WINDOW SILL FLOWERS

6 x 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board

SOLD

These are two of my favourite glass pieces, they sit on the window sill in my kitchen, the added beauty of cosmos from my garden makes for a perfect still life.  I started with a plain canvas(no underpainting), then  sketched very loosely just marking the shapes with transparent brown.  I just kept colour blocking the shapes and adding little bits of detail.  I like the expressionist quality of this painting.
