This is my vision of what summer looks like turning to fall.  I used transparent paints to start blocking in all of the lights and darks. I find this gives me a really solid start.

I got the inspiration for this painting from one of my summer pots that I had taken a photo of.  I used different translucent colours for the underpainting.  I love the brightness and movement of this painting, when I first started I wasn't sure if it would turn out but I just kept working and adding little bits of lights and darks.

Lately I seem to be using more rich oranges, golds and reds than usual...right now our area is full of the most amazing fall colours.  A friend of mine was mentioning that because of the long very hot summer we had it makes them even more spectacular. I love nature.

More roses from Jewels garden, she just moved into her new house and was so thrilled to see all the roses. I had to make my way through a  prickly garden to get the coral rose...it was so worth  it.
