When I first looked at my subject I thought there wasn't enough detail, after much studying of this little piggy I found more and more, the colour changes, the shapes, I so enjoyed painting him.

Again with the purple underpainting, I am really enjoying playing around with the colour.  This painting is loose even for me but I like the outcome again just suggesting details.

For this cow I did another purple under painting, I love how all the colours pop against it. I used very loose strokes to get most of the detail.

Several people have requested that I paint  pigs, here is my first attempt. I really enjoyed using this colour palette and tried not to over use the pink.  I am really happy with the outcome.

I painted this chicken with softer edges and blended the paint a little more that usual.  I am trying to find a balance between blending and defining with my paint strokes.

I read a quote yesterday in a magazine "I never met a colour I didn't like" that would be me,  but today I stayed with a very subdued for me palette.  I love how this cow turned out and am very pleased that I stuck with a limited colour choice...I did have to add a touch of olive green right at the end though.

I took the photo of this darling puppy last week in Nanaimo. He was so wanting to please his owner, just waiting for the next command, a proud little pup. I used a purple background for this painting, I am pleased with how it turned out.

Though the deer have been feasting in  my garden all summer, I never tire of their sweet faces.  I took a few photos last week and today after looking at my garden(not a bloom left) I decided to paint one.
