This was a little garage in Fairfield.  The garage was originally the same colour as the car, I took artistic license and changed it to a bright turquoise.

One of my very favourite things to do is drive to Victoria especially when all the cherry trees are coming out.  My husband and I spent a couple of hours walking around Fairfield taking pictures of all of the charming character homes. This little blue house was one of the first pictures I took, originally there was a portion of an orange house beside it, I eventually took it out as it just didn't seem to fit.  I have started using gessobord for several of my paintings, it definitely allows your paint brush to glide more easily.

I have painted this scene before and will probably paint it again, it is taken from outside my studio at the Old school house art gallery in Qualicum Beach, I love character buildings. This building was saved by the towns people 25years ago from demolition.  It is the center of everything in our small village.

I have never seen a picture of a cat that didn't warm my heart, this was no exception...her expression is so serious even a little on the cranky side, but you know that she is just a sweetheart.

The old school house blue version.  I like that art is all about what you want to convey.  You decide what will go on that canvas, what you want to include or not.  There doesn't have to be any rules.  How great is that.
