Starting with a black board can make the painting just a little more dramatic, the colours just pop.

There should be a tulip celebration day, especially the soft pink ones that look so amazing against the perfectly green leaves.

BELONGING

6 x 6 inch oil
on 1/8th inch gesso board
$85.00

Ok, I admit that I am addicted to painting landscapes. They are the perfect subject, I just keep colour blocking and the scene appears. They are forging because nothing is the same in nature when it hasn't been touched by us humans. Every cedar is shaped differently with their jagged and and all over the place branches every which way. They are all unique but somehow enhance each other... a testament to belonging.

DALLAS ROAD

6 x 6 inch oil
on 1/8th inch thick gesso board
$85.00

I have been noticing the sky and the amazing cloud formations lately. So today was cloud painting day. I started with a pink underpainting. Another favourite colour lately is radian violet, it adds a little more interest to the sky.

ALL THE LADIES

6 x 6 inch oil
on 1/8th inch gessoboard
SOLD

I have really been enjoying painting these landscapes, there is something so familiar about cedar trees. I kept to a limited palette, makes things so much simpler.
