Primary pow...the colours that you see on some small birds are just amazing. So interesting that the  body of this bird is so bright and is such a contrast against the subdued wings.  I love nature!!!

I  used  dark blue and purple transparents for the underpainting of this bird. I really like how the other colours pop against them.
