SUP?

6 x 6 inch oil
on 1/8th inch gesso board
$80.00

I  used  dark blue and purple transparents for the underpainting of this bird. I really like how the other colours pop against them.

SWEET THING...you make my heart sing

oil on 1/8th inch gesso board

I have started painting some of my birds a little smaller, way more background to think about.  I decided to go a little purple crazy which I just love against this little bird.

DRESSED FOR SUCCESS

6 X 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
$70.00

I used a more subtle palette than usual so I decided to use a red underpainting.  I like the end result soft with a little bit of a bite.

PRETTY MISS BIRDIE

A very pleasant day to paint another bird, the background kind of reminds me of confetti...maybe it's the colours.

SITTING PRETTY

6 X 6 inch
oil on 1/8th inch gesso board
NFS

I am starting to play around more and more with the backgrounds, this little bird was sitting on a wire and I decided that some beautiful blossoms would just add a little pretty. Every once in a while I step back and really take a look at my paintings that are drying on the shelf, it really is amazing that something so small can make such an impact in a room.

SOLD

I was away for a week and really missed painting...I just had to paint a bird when I got home, I used just primary colours and kept it simple.
