Went to dinner at a good friends house and when we arrived there were the most beautiful scented roses cascading down the front of the house, after a wonderful dinner and conversation, we said our good byes and Katherine clipped two roses for us to take home...just the best evening.

My first painting since I arrived home. This beautiful bouquet is from Vertgen farms on Vancouver Island. I have to say they grow some of the most breath taking flowers that I have ever seen. I am very fortunate that I can just go up the road to the Saturday morning market where they have a stand.

I look forward every year to our local market, especially for the flowers that our wonderful farmers devote so much of their time to growing. I chose 3 amazing sunflowers to bring home, they have so much personality and movement.  The name just popped into my head...I think I was listening to Donna Summer.
