There is something so expressive about daffodils, they just seem to say here I am in all my glorious yellow.  Some people aren't especially moved by floral paintings, for me it is the complete opposite.  Every spring when the gardens start filling up I am overwhelmed by the beauty that I get never ending inspiration from.

I tried painting these daffodils yesterday and wiped the canvas after a couple of hours.  Today I tried again, I started with a white canvas, it just seemed to work better than the burnt umber wash.

I was painting at my studio in town yesterday and this was my view, I kept looking at the light on the flowers it was so beautiful, I eventually headed out to take pictures...there is nothing like spring, the flowers are so brand new.

I was driving by a neighbours a couple of days ago and spotted some beautiful daffodils, I jumped out of the car snapped a few pictures.  Today it is grey and raining so I decided it was the perfect time to paint them.
