This horse lives on Parker Road in Qualicum Beach not far from where I live, I originally headed out first thing one morning to take photos of the cows, they were in the opposite end of the pasture much too far away.   But across the street there was a horse who was very interested in the carrots that we had so I decided to take advantage of the photo opportunity.

Another day of relishing my painting journey. I went to an art opening last week and one of my favourite artists Grant Leier was showing his amazing work.  He inspired me to just enjoy colour and flowers and anything goes!!

I am really enjoying painting these big birds on the small panels. I have been underpainting the panels and leaving more colour exposed than I usually do. Just more ways to experiment with a painting.

Primary pow...the colours that you see on some small birds are just amazing. So interesting that the  body of this bird is so bright and is such a contrast against the subdued wings.  I love nature!!!

I  used  dark blue and purple transparents for the underpainting of this bird. I really like how the other colours pop against them.
