This gal lives on a farm in Errington, a friend of mine knows the owners so he was nice enough to take me there for an afternoon of cow photo shoots. When I started painting years ago I wasn't to fond of painting black, now I love it.  The more I paint cows, the more I love to paint cows.

I approached this painting differently, I used very little white at the beginning while mixing my paints and started the underpainting with much more saturated colour...learning more every day.

It is hard to believe that I have painted close to 200 cows.  The best thing about this is that I have learned so much by painting the same subject, even though every cow is different, the little similarities are always there and it just seems to flow when I am painting ...I am already looks forward to the next 200.
