Irresistible iris

8 x 10 inch
oil on panel
SOLD
My friend Agnes brings flowers from her garden to the Old school house art centre every Wednesday. The iris's were extra large and just so full of life.  I so enjoyed painting them...such movement.

Full house

$85.00

This painting seems more abstract than my usual, it is also darker...different but I like how it turned out.

I couldn't resist buying these red tulips when I was out running errands yesterday.  I love the turquoise vase with them.

I am enjoying starting from a black panel.  In some ways you have to work backwards when choosing your colours.

Tuesday afternoon

6 x 8 inches
oil on panel
SOLD

I find the gessobord so much easier to apply paint to, the paint goes on like butter.  I know that I will paint this vase many times..I  love the colour and the shape.

Leigh's roses

6 x 6 inches
oil on panel
$50.00

I have a fear of painting glass...I actually start sweating when I attempt it.  My friend Leigh gave me these beautiful roses awhile ago, I snapped some photos but until now I haven't had the nerve to try painting them.  I actually really enjoyed painting the vase.  My mantra for the day...nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hint of spring

6 x 6
oil on board

DONATED

So I truly do have an addiction to tulips...buying them and painting them, can't have them in my yard though because they are also a big favourite of the deer.  As I have said many times they are such a simple flower but so perfect and  there is nothing better than a vase full of gently opened tulips and their dancing leaves...perfection.
