The moment I started this painting it just came alive, maybe because tulips are my very favourite flower especially when they start opening. I have done several paintings now starting with a black gesso canvas, i am starting to get the hang of it...

Finally the tulips have started arriving in the stores, they are everywhere. I pulled out my go to turquoise vase and filled it with my favourite flowers, beautiful pinks...just so pretty. I used more paint than usual, and used a palette knife along with my brush.
