So the tulips were looking pretty sad after being my subject for a good week of painting, I headed out to the garden and clipped some rhodos and lilacs...they are in full bloom and amazing.  I loved the rich purples against the deep blue of the burleigh vase.

My neighbour lent me this beautiful vase, my tulips looked so beautiful with their bright pinks against  the dark cobalt blue of the vase.

These  tulips are from Vertgen farms who have a stall at our Saturday market.  To say these tulips are spectacular is an understatement. I absolutely loved painting these beauties.

It is bird weather here...finally they get to come out in all there glory and enjoy the lushness surrounding them. The foliage is in a hurry to bloom now that we have sunny days so there just seems to be a lot more action in our nature.

I enjoy painting black animals more and more. I love using different subtle colours to accentuate the highlights, on this beauty I used blues,mauves with a little bit of green just because.

 There is nothing more beautiful than the flowering cherry tree especially when it is set against the most stunning  greens in their finest at the beginning of spring, and just when you think nothing could be more beautiful, you see the crystal blue sky peeking through...inspiring nature.
