This painting was originally of a large vase with flowers, I didn't have the urge to do the little happy dance that usually follows after I complete a painting so I decided to overpaint it with an abstract floral and immediately had that urge to dance...yay

I am on a flower painting role...so much fun, I love creativity.  I started this canvas with several transparent colours for the under painting and then just started filling in different colour patterns until everything came together.  Did I mention that I love pink?!

I have had bunnies on my mind since one moved into our front yard and settled in right under one of our rhodos. Bunny does explore the neighbourhood but is always back to relax in the safety of our overgrown garden. I love nature.

These sunflowers are from my friend Elsa's farm, there are rows and rows of flowers and veggies, she even has a charming little bakery.  It is definitely one of my favourite places to go.  I added touches of pink just because I love pink.

This is my vision of what summer looks like turning to fall.  I used transparent paints to start blocking in all of the lights and darks. I find this gives me a really solid start.

I got the inspiration for this painting from one of my summer pots that I had taken a photo of.  I used different translucent colours for the underpainting.  I love the brightness and movement of this painting, when I first started I wasn't sure if it would turn out but I just kept working and adding little bits of lights and darks.

Lately I seem to be using more rich oranges, golds and reds than usual...right now our area is full of the most amazing fall colours.  A friend of mine was mentioning that because of the long very hot summer we had it makes them even more spectacular. I love nature.

There was a bunny living in our yard for a couple of months in the summer, hanging around in the garden under all the flowers and plants, he is the inspiration for my latest paintings.

I was originally going to paint this bunny on a 6 x 6 inch panel, after looking at it for awhile I decided to go big.  I started with a black under painting which really defines the colours and gives a wonderful depth and adds even more interest to the painting.
