This is a cow day. I know I have mentioned this before but because I have painted so many cows there is a rhythm to my paining, everything just flows. There are no questions of is this going to turn out?...very calming

I searched my files for quite some time deciding what to paint, this bunny just seemed fitting since everywhere I go now I am reminded that Easter is just around the corner.  The background was originally plain, I decided to add the flowers and greenery for a little bit of spring.

This is a commission that I did for a friend.  I have to admit that labs are one of my favourite breeds. While painting Tim I was  quickly reminded what a challenge it is for me to paint a black animal. It is a slower process but I am so pleased with the outcome.

A daffodil day, the sun is shining and the birds are singing, I can feel those daffodils getting ready to bloom. When I finished this painting it reminded me a little bit of a water colour.

Sunflowers have to be one of the most lively plants, the flowers and leaves go every which way, and in the wind the dance back and forth is delightful.  You might even wonder if they are going to topple over but they never do....freedom.

Spring is definitely around the corner, there are robins hanging out in our yard and I even see some buds on the trees...can't wait.  I just had to add  flowers to this robin painting to give it the full spring effect.

This was my third attempt at a painting today, the first two were wiped, sometimes it is best. I find painting flowers therapeutic so for my third I had to paint flowers.

Everything colourful today, I used every pink that I own for the coneflowers.  Sometimes it is fun to just be really bold when you paint something...no toning down.

I really enjoyed painting these daffodils, It is not often that I use this much white in a painting but I love how the flowers look so bright and cheerful. I used just a handful of colours for my palette, I am really pleased with the outcome.

Another day of painting flowers, trying to resurrect the start of spring after the obscene amount of snow that fell upon us. I think it might be working, the sun is out and the snow is now melting....yippeeee.

I am having the urge to paint flowers more than usual, outside my window is a white wonderland which we hardly ever experience here.  Though very beautiful our little town is just not used to this relentless snow so it is flower painting time....bring on summer.

I have painted this cow many times...very photogenic.  He lives not far from here and is often hanging around by the fence.  I used just a handful of primary colours for this painting...sometimes less is definitely more.

This painting was started with a magenta wash canvas. It was quite dark soI had to work at lightening the colours.  I used lots of small strokes on this painting.

Another chickadee, I love the black head, it gives such detail.  I stayed quite close to the actual colour of this bird, usually I tend to add more original colours. I had a solid gold background but felt something was missing, once I started adding the pinks it became complete.

I go through phases with my painting...this is definitely a bird phase.  The background on this painting reminds me of wall paper, the more interest the better, even on a canvas this small your eye moves around to all the different points of interest.

It's looking a lot like spring around here, birds everywhere.  I started with a white canvas and once I painted the little robin and then I gave the surrounding background a wash of phthalo blue. I like how everything pops.
